New Youth Group Bldg - Crosspoint Church
Crosspoint Communitys New Youth Group Building is an ARTreach Project and a Public Work of Art!

Crosspoint Community Church and Katy ARTreach collaborated to produce a complete wrap-around mural for the youth group building located on the church property. This unique mural is an outstanding public work of art in Katy thanks to the participation of professional artist Mario Jaramillo of Houston, Texas.

Mario is well known for his work in Houston as a graphic and professional artist, as well as being one of the original founders of the international hip hop group URGEWORKS. Mario was involved in this unique project when Crosspoints Youth Pastor, Jason Dial asked ARTreach for a way to get his youth group involved in a special project that would take the old grey trailers being utilized for meetings to a level that could inspire new energy and excitement.

Painting to Mozart Concerto #21
By the Krause Children

This beautiful work of art was created by the children residing at the Krause Residential Treatment Center in Katy. The Krause Center is managed by Lutheran Social Services and located at 5638 Medical Center Drive in Katy. The center provides a home to children ages 12-17 under child protective custody and in the foster care system. These children are undergoing treatment for depression and/or are suffering from emotional and behavioral problems often related to the effects of abuse, abandonment or neglect.

This painting represents the collaborative work of 60 children. The bold colors and flowing image was inspired by Mozarts Concerto #21. This Katy ARTreach project utilizes expressive art techniques to teach children about the world of music and art.

The children of the Krause Center have donated this painting to the Katy Performing Arts Society to help raise money to fund new programs. It is a thank you gift for KPAS continuous support and encouragement. Each year KPAS donates concert tickets to the Krause children, opening the door to the enchanting world of classical chamber music ensembles and opera presentations.
