Harris County Public Library Performances

ARTreach, in collaboration with Harris County Public Library and Noyes Fine Arts Foundation’s Book Bash, connected a Books Alive original musical production, Do Unto Otters, to three Harris County area libraries this spring and summer. These included Lone Star College Branch, Octavia Fields Branch and North Channel Branch. In presenting such programs to the community, ARTreach hopes to not only spread awareness of its mission, but also to reach families that may not otherwise have the chance to see such a production. The performances, all free of charge to the community, attracted large audiences of all ages.

NFAF’s Book Bash is a professional theatre organization that creates original musicals based on children’s books which help students develop a healthy love of books while providing their first opportunity to see live theatre. Kristin Miller, Book Bash Program Manager, has taught theatre and related programming for more than 30 years and managed various arts programs for ARTreach, Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center and Mamie George Community Center. She is the founding visionary of the Book Bash concept and resulting program which has enjoyed over 6 years of success in various incarnations.

ARTreach is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides mentoring and art-related programs to a growing population of children at risk, children and adults with special needs, the elderly and others in need.
