Britt studied piano technique and sight-reading from age 7.  Already sight-reading advanced classical and jazz music, he was employed by the Bud Winters Dixieland Five to play area clubs and dances, where he learned to read band chord sheets and developed the ability to play by ear.  

Britt entered his 80s with eight years’ experience leading Memory Makers Singalongs™, improving his compilation of songs and his piano accompaniment to “just like it used to sound” to his age peers. He has played for dances and dinner clubs, Navy NCO clubs in Japan and the US, in churches for memorials and worship services, for parties, openings, and patriotic and other events starting more than 75 years ago. 

Like most of his age peers, he remembered the favorite tunes from his youth, but only the first line or two of the songs.  So, he put them in a book to help bring the memories back – Memory Makers Singalongs™.  Britt’s mission is simply “Bring joy!” and he does exactly that with his piano skills and his warm and friendly manner.  He is loved by all the seniors he visits to share the joy of music.
