Quilting Project

$0.00

This project looks at the history of quilting and the value it has given to communities and families. Then the class continues with teaching simple hand sewing techniques to help develop quilt squares. This can end with participants making their own mini quilt, or with all pieces being put together into a community quilt. The end project can be a beautiful work of art to share in a public space. This program comes from one the artist has been working with that started in California but has reached people all over the world. If the participants are interested in having their work become part of the Social Justice Sewing Academy, the teaching artist can make that happen, or she can help them create their own art quilts.
